MV/NAACP Foundation

As a fund-raising arm of the Martha’s Vineyard NAACP branch, the MV/NAACP Foundation is a separate 501 c 3 nonprofit Organization incorporated under the laws of Massachusetts.

The Martha’s Vineyard NAACP Foundation will raise funds for charitable, scientific and educational programs and projects that promote awareness of the rich and vital cultural Heritage of the island as well as programs/projects that support the mission of the organization.

The Martha’s Vineyard Chapter of the NAACP is looking for eight (8) Directors for the Board of the Martha’s Vineyard NAACP Foundation. The purpose is to marshal the resources necessary to realize the MV/NAACP’s mission and vision; provide college scholarships for island high school students; and implement programs/projects that research and work to preserve the rich and diverse heritage within the context of the socio cultural history of Martha’s Vineyard.

Members of the Executive Committee cordially invite community members and/or accept nominations of constituents with expertise in, but not limited to, any of the following: Youth mentorship, real estate, project financing, fundraising, civil rights history, law, social change philanthropy, and grant writing. Potential member does not have to reside on Island full time.
