March on Washington: Saturday, August 24th

The NAACP is one of the organizers of the March On Washington, August 24th. This March is to commemorate the 50th Year Anniversary of the historic 1963 March and to demand that Congress restore Section IV of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. As you know, on June 25th, the US Supreme Court struck down Section IV of the Act. It is essential to the voting rights of all citizens that Section IV be fully restored, without delay and consistent with the findings of the US Supreme Court.

The NAACP, New England Area Conference (NEAC), is a full participant and we are sponsoring buses for the event. We ask that you help us by broadly disseminating the information within your Branch, within organizations and churches with which you affiliate and to your friends and relatives. Because of the urgent need to fully restore the Voting rights Act of 1965, lets make this March even larger than the March On Washington in 1963.
